Following our SJCS Transmission Levels & Mitigating Prevention Measures Chart, the campus levels are:
To mitigate the spread of the virus, St. Joseph Catholic School will seek guidance from the CDC, TEA, Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops Education Department, Diocese of Austin and public health officials, as we strive to provide safe and healthy learning environments in the 2021-2022 school year. Please keep in mind this plan is subject to change and will be amended as needed or required by the circumstances and latest directives.

To manage all the moving parts, we have created a chart above to help us navigate the COVID situation moving forward. This set of guidelines will allow for predictability for all stakeholders.
The SJCS Transmission Levels & Mitigating Prevention Measures chart is how we will address COVID on our campus from a place of advocacy for optimal learning and protection from COVID in a fair and accommodating way.
The chart is broken down by campus so we can track the positive cases more efficiently and communicate the information to the appropriate campus groups. You will see the transmission levels listed across the top with a number of cases indicating the different colored levels.
The mitigating factors section shows the preventative measures we will take to maintain level green or reduce the other levels back to level green. Each set of mitigation measures carries over to the next level with additional measures being added.
Two important items to mention are that the transmission levels are determined after looking at the contact tracing. And, we will ask that students and staff wear a mask for the first five days after returning to school.
Receiving Status Updates
We will continue our school wide emails when there is a positive case on campus along with the close contact emails. I will include the transmission level in the school wide email so all parties will know how to respond. We will also communicate updates via Google Classroom for our secondary students and have signs posted on the front doors of all of our campuses indicating the appropriate level.
I realize that this is a change that will require energy from all of us to process and internalize in moving forward. When I reflect upon all the decisions, questions, and hopes that each of us has from our various responsibilities, I am comforted in the message of our theme for this year: Cultivating our Creative Courage.
We are asked to be courageous in the face of adversity, fear, and the unknown. We must be creative in problem-solving to address the needs of our school community. And, we must cultivate positive and encouraging relationships with one another to build upon the goodness of our faith and school community.
Thank you for your support, your feedback, and your prayers.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mishler
Principal
