The ever-changing dynamics of our current pandemic have made back-to-school plans difficult to finalize. However, we feel that we have created guidelines to safely bring our students and teachers back to on-campus instruction based on the latest policies and guidance provided from the Diocese of Austin Office of Catholic Schools, the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops Education Department (TCCB ED), the Texas Education Agency (TEA), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the American Academy of Pediatrics, and local, county, and state governmental entities.
Our guidelines are designed to provide the adequate structure that has proven to foster and facilitate learning at its highest level for every child and family. We have considered the implementation of every reasonable practice that prevents the spread of COVID-19 while your child is in our care. Your child's and our staff's health and safety were our top priority while creating these guidelines and will remain our highest priority moving forward.
Based on our survey that was completed by 169 families, 82% indicated that they prefer on-campus in-person instruction, we are blessed to offer both on-campus and virtual instruction. The on-campus instruction guidelines are attached as well as the expectations for virtual instruction on the Virtual Plan contract. Please understand that we are not asking you to make a semester or even quarterly commitment for either option, however, to help us plan for changes we ask for weekly commitments.
These guidelines are not in any way perfect, nor in stone; they are, however, our hands-down, BEST attempt at offering a high quality, Catholic education despite the obstacles that this COVID-19 virus and pandemic present. Please keep in mind the plan is subject to change and will be amended as needed or required by the circumstances and latest directives. .
We appreciate all of our families and give thanks to God for blessing us with the opportunity to assist in the formation of your children. We keep all of you in our prayers and ask that you also keep all of the faculty and staff in your prayers.
Sincerely,
Jim Rike
