Catholic Schools Week

National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week 2023 is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.” Schools observe the annual celebration week with Masses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.

Here's how SJCS is celebrating:

• Sunday, Jan. 29: Celebrating Our Parish | SJCS students will serve as lectors, altar servers and ushers during the weekend Masses at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
• Monday, Jan. 30: Celebrating the Community | We are giving back to our community by inviting our community heroes (police, EMT, nurses, doctors, etc.) to stop by our Elementary Campus between 7:30-8:30 a.m. for free coffee and donuts!
• Tuesday, Jan. 31: Celebrating Vocations | Secondary Campus students will participate in a Holy Hour for Vocations. Join us via Facebook Live.
• Wednesday, Feb. 1: Celebrating the Nation | Join us via Facebook Live as we pray a Rosary for Our Nation.
• Thursday, Feb. 2: Celebrating Students | Join us for Mass. Students will attend with their Prayer Pals. Mass will begin at 10:15 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Chapel. Following Mass, students will enjoy pizza for lunch with their Prayer Pal!
• Friday, Feb. 3: Celebrating Faculty, Staff and Volunteers | Thank you to the PTO for sponsoring lunch for our amazing SJCS faculty and staff!
• Saturday, Feb. 4: Celebrating Families | Bring your lunch and join us at Sue Haswell Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a fun and family-filled afternoon.
