The small school environment encourages students to be involved and allows teachers the opportunity to give individualized attention. The family atmosphere allows students to bolster life-long friendships in a faith-filled environment of learning and healthy competition.
The basic curriculum includes math, language arts, science, social studies and religion. Along with religious instruction and sacramental preparations, students attend Mass weekly as well as celebrate Holy Days of Obligation and special feast days with student-led Masses.
Specialty classes include music, Spanish, physical education, library and art. Students may also participate in many other activities including Student Council and academic competitions such as PSIA* (Private School Interscholastic Association).
*PSIA: St. Joseph elementary and junior high students are eligible to compete in the Private School Interscholastic Association's annual competition. Categories range from art history to number sense, world geography to onsite writing.
St. Joseph Catholic School is accredited by the TCCB-ED (Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops Education Department) and the TEA (Texas Education Agency).
